Before the students are sent out on their different internships, within the hospitality business, they get prepared with the teachers help.

Here the students learn to carry plates and serve so they can work in restaurants.

There are also educational visits for the students. Here is a picture from a 5 star hotel in Gothenburg that we visited with two of the classes.

The students find it most interesting to get to know how different hotels and restaurants works and they asks a lot of questions when we make our visits.

The teachers at the Hotel and Tourism education use their imagination to make the classes a bit fun for the students. Here the students are making clipboards of what they think tourism is all about. They worked in pairs.

The students take notes during the lecture. They usually use the computers that they received from the school.

Here is a classic way to teach the students by explaining and writing on the board.

The students, that are between 16 to 18 years old depending which school year they are in, find it easier to follow the lecture if the teacher also write on the board.

My name is Maria and I’m going to tell you about the school where I made my internship this fall during my vocational teacher studies within the hospitality business (Hotels, Conference and Tourism).

This is ”Burgården Gymnasium” A big school for several different vocational educations within “Hotel & Tourism”, “Hairdresser”, “Restaurant” and “Florist” to name some of them. The hotel and tourism education is 3 years long and includes internships for the students so they will be ready for work and employment when they graduate.

The school is located in the center of Gothenburg.
