| One of the two computer labs at our campus. Students seen here are doing the online computer reservations systems (Galileo) course. The students do this for three hours a week for almost 30 weeks. They started in May and are now almost at the end of the course. The first two out of 40 students successfully completed Galileo this week. |
I guess the course is needed in order to work as a person selling trips? What is the occupation?
ReplyDeleteI also guess that you have a flexible course system - since two students of 40 have completed the course, that means that they can complete the course independently. That sounds like adult education arrangements here is Sweden, there is a lot of flexible and individualized studies in adult education here.
Do you think three hours a week is enough or to much time?
ReplyDeleteThis year the students will be given 12 hours a week for 7 weeks. The unit is for 80 hours
DeleteThat must be great to have access to the Galileo-system to practice. Do the students get a certificate that proves they have the skills to handle it? In Sweden such a cert for Galileo or other systems could cost quite a lot of money (private course)
ReplyDeleteI received the cert. for Galileo when I studied in Melbourne. Unfortunetely is is not as common in Sweden as it is in AUS, which makes the cert. quite redundant here...
