| Celebrating different cultures. Here the student is learning to wear a sari (Indian attire). The Diploma of Tourism course has 33 units and they include units such as Working in a Socially Diverse Environment, Managing Quality Customer Service, Conflict Resolution and Destinations. At the college, we have Cultural Day where the students dress up in ethnic costumes(a change from their business attire uniform) and bring a plate of food to share with the rest of the class. We have found this very beneficial for the students as it creates harmony and understanding among different cultures. |
Hi Mamita! This is very interesting, the unit of Working in a Socially Diverse Environment. Is it mandatory to take this course in the Diploma of Tourism?
ReplyDeleteThis looks really interesting. I would love to do something similar with my class!
ReplyDeleteHi Mamita, our school has a multi cultural environment with student from many different cultures. I am a teacher in the business and administration programme and maybe this could be something for us as well. Maybe as a project for a week, which we normally have each semester.
ReplyDeleteI agree, this seems to be very educational for the students :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea!
For Business studies we have a subject Analyse consumer behaviour for specific markets This unit applies to individuals working in a marketing team who need to analyse consumer behaviour to examine the factors that impact on decisions to purchase products or services. Having thoroughly analysed consumer attitudes and behaviour, recommendations can be made on marketing strategies to increase consumption of the product or service being marketed. A most interesting subject for the students and to teach.
ReplyDeleteVery exciting!! Fantastic to get new ideas from the other side of the world.
